Construction Manager – Utilities Infrastructure

About the role

The Construction Manager – Utilities Infrastructure will lead the planning, coordination and execution of utility infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery while meeting all regulatory and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day construction management of utilities infrastructure projects, including installations, service connections, pump stations, substations, duct banks and related civil works.
• Develop and maintain project execution plans, construction schedules, phasing and work sequencing; monitor progress against schedule and budget and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate constructability reviews, manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, field orders and change‑order processes.
• Direct contractors, subcontractors, inspectors and field staff on multiple sites; conduct regular site walks to verify quality, progress and compliance.
• Enforce safety culture in line with OSHA, company and client requirements; review and approve safety plans, JHAs and site‑specific procedures.
• Control costs by tracking quantities, unit rates and contractor payment applications; evaluate change‑order requests and negotiate pricing.
• Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, as‑built documentation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing utility infrastructure construction projects from pre‑construction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety plans and quality‑control procedures.
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders on‑site.
• Experience preparing and monitoring project budgets, cost estimates and progress payments.
