Cost Control Engineer – Project Finance

About the role

The Cost Control Engineer will manage project budgets, monitor expenditures and analyse cost variances to ensure projects stay within approved financial limits. You will support the implementation of cost‑control procedures, optimise resource allocation and help mitigate financial risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.
• Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets and flag potential overruns.
• Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare periodic financial performance reports, including budget vs. actual analysis and cost forecasts.
• Identify cost‑related risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with cost‑control procedures, company policies and financial regulations.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and other project teams to align cost‑control activities.
• Maintain cost‑tracking systems and ensure accurate expense recording.
• Support continuous improvement of cost‑control processes and adopt best practices.
• Assist HSE initiatives and comply with safety and IMS policies.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in cost control or project finance (GCC experience a plus).
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of cost estimating tools such as CCS (Candy) and change‑control processes.
• Understanding of cost management, estimation and multi‑project resource planning.
• Basic grasp of project management principles and techniques.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
