Cost Controller – Mechanical

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Cost Controller to join our on‑shore project teams in Saudi Arabia. The role involves monitoring budgets, tracking expenditures and supporting cost reconciliation for shutdown and turnaround projects in the oil, gas and petrochemical sector.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, forecasts and actual expenditure.
• Track manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare regular cost reports and variance analyses.
• Verify timesheets, invoices and equipment utilisation.
• Monitor scope changes, additional work and variation costs.
• Coordinate with Planning, Mechanical, Procurement, Finance and Project teams.
• Support project cost reconciliation and close‑out reporting.

Required profile

• Qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
• Cost‑control experience within oil & gas, petrochemical or refinery industry.
• Shutdown and turnaround experience strongly preferred.
• Exposure to static‑equipment maintenance projects.
• Experience with EPC, industrial maintenance or shutdown contractors.
• Saudi Arabia or wider GCC experience preferred.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site during demanding shutdown schedules (≈45 days).
