Crowd Management Officer

About the role

The Crowd Management Officer is responsible for planning and executing crowd control strategies for events, ensuring safe and efficient movement of visitors and participants.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and implement crowd management plans tailored to each event’s size and nature.
• Organise visitor flow, directing people to designated areas, and manage queues, entrances, exits and pathways.
• Supervise crowd management teams, assign locations and tasks, and monitor compliance with operational procedures.
• Monitor crowd density, detect congestion, and respond to emergencies according to established protocols.
• Coordinate with security, safety, emergency services and event organisers.
• Ensure clear signage, evacuation routes and emergency exits are visible and functional.
• Prepare operational reports and document incidents and observations.
• Participate in pre‑ and post‑event planning and evaluation meetings.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in event management, security, safety or a related field.
• 2‑5 years practical experience in crowd management or large‑scale event operations.
• Experience organising exhibitions, conferences or public events.
• Knowledge of crowd management principles, risk assessment and emergency evacuation plans.
• Leadership ability to delegate tasks and supervise teams.
• Quick decision‑making under pressure and strong communication skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site, including evenings and weekends as required.

Required skills

• Certified training in crowd management, safety or emergency response (preferred).
