Data Scientist – Gen AI/LLMs

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Data Scientist specialized in Generative AI and Large Language Models to drive AI‑powered solutions for enterprise assessment and performance management. You will work closely with data engineers and business stakeholders to design, implement, and continuously improve AI models that automate insight extraction from structured and unstructured data.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Generative AI models and prompt frameworks tailored to business use cases.
• Implement AI analysis results and build logic to identify repeated items, systemic issues, and patterns across data sources.
• Create quality‑analysis and scoring models that rate assessment reports on a 0–100% scale.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to access assessment data, leverage vector databases for semantic search, and enable contextual retrieval.
• Refine AI outputs through user query analysis, UAT feedback, prompt optimisation, and model fine‑tuning.
• Support go‑live validation, monitor performance, and improve AI accuracy post‑deployment.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in Data Science or Applied AI.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with Generative AI, LLMs, and NLP techniques.
• Proven experience in prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Experience working with vector databases and semantic search solutions.
• Ability to translate business rules into AI logic and explain model outputs to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Desirable experience in enterprise assessment, audit, or performance‑management systems and exposure to SAP‑integrated AI solutions.
