Deputy Registrar – Queensland Courts

About the role

The Deputy Registrar will play a pivotal role in modernising Queensland's court system, supporting safety, innovation and efficient access to justice. Working within a dynamic team, you will help shape a more responsive and user‑friendly court experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective supervision to the registry team, fostering a supportive workplace.
• Assist the Registrar in daily operations, coordinating court proceedings and processing complex matters.
• Identify and act on risks related to Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, escalating concerns as needed.
• Deliver trauma‑informed, compassionate service to stakeholders, resolving enquiries and complaints promptly.
• Maintain compliance with administrative systems, data integrity, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
• Build collaborative relationships with judiciary members, government agencies, self‑represented litigants and the public.
• Support transparent financial, HR, data and risk management practices and contribute to workforce planning and performance management.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in a court or legal environment.
• Ability to manage staff, coordinate operations and handle complex court matters.
• Knowledge of domestic, family and sexual violence issues and a trauma‑informed approach.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and service excellence.
