Director – Commercial Areas Design

About the role

The Director – Commercial Areas Design leads the planning, development and execution of commercial design projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency and alignment with the organisation’s strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the Commercial Design business plan and align it with the overall corporate strategy.
• Develop and implement operational plans for commercial areas, monitoring progress against targets.
• Manage budgeting processes, monitor expenditures and report any deviations.
• Analyse operational demands, regulatory constraints and future aviation growth to guide design decisions.
• Direct conceptual design, define scope and layout, and oversee feasibility studies and site inspections.
• Review design proposals, technical specifications and material requirements for regulatory compliance.
• Oversee design of retail, duty‑free, food & beverage outlets, lounges, wellness facilities and financial service kiosks.
• Ensure accessibility features and optimise layout for visibility, passenger flow and commercial performance.
• Conduct technical assessments of construction feasibility, design impact and environmental considerations, providing risk mitigation guidance.
