Director of Learning & Development

About the role

The Director of Learning & Development will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of training programs that align with the organization’s mission and values. Reporting to the Executive Committee, this role partners with property leadership to address both employee and organizational development needs across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and develop customized training curricula covering product knowledge, customer service, leadership, and company philosophy.
• Manage and administer compliance training programs such as CPR, OSHA, fire safety, harassment prevention, and food handling.
• Oversee core training initiatives including orientation, leadership skills, trainer certification, diversity training, and management development.
• Develop and maintain an annual/quarterly training calendar and ensure adult‑learning principles are embedded in all programs.
• Coach managers, design supervisory development programs, and drive performance improvement initiatives.
• Measure training effectiveness, report ROI, and adjust methodologies as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading learning and development functions within a large organization.
• Strong ability to collaborate with senior leaders and translate business objectives into training solutions.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with a focus on adult learning.
• Demonstrated track record of managing compliance training and certification programs.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CPR certification requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and fire safety regulations.
• Experience delivering harassment prevention and food‑handling training.
