Director of Public Realms (SME)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a senior leader to oversee the design, delivery and long‑term operation of all outdoor public spaces within a high‑profile giga‑project in Saudi Arabia. The Director will act as the subject‑matter expert for public realm assets, ensuring they remain safe, functional and visually outstanding for residents and millions of visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical asset management and maintenance oversight for parks, promenades, plazas, streetscapes, water features and green corridors.
• Lead landscape infrastructure management, including health, irrigation and agronomic performance of large‑scale softscape assets.
• Ensure structural integrity and safety of hardscape elements and open‑air entertainment boulevards.
• Collaborate with construction teams to transition assets from build phase to operational phase.
• Develop and enforce standards for waste cleansing, presentation and environmental sustainability.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of experience in landscape architecture, public realm design or related infrastructure management.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale public space projects in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Strong understanding of Vision 2030 objectives and smart‑city integration.
