Driller – Onshore Rig Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Driller to lead safe and efficient on‑shore drilling operations in Saudi Arabia. You will supervise the rig crew, monitor drilling parameters, and ensure compliance with H&P HSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor drilling equipment to maintain safe, efficient operations.
• Supervise Floorhands, Derrickhands and Assistant Drillers during shifts.
• Maintain and verify well‑control equipment readiness.
• Adjust drilling parameters to optimise performance.
• Conduct pre‑tour meetings and safety briefings.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies, industry regulations and mitigate operational risks.
• Maintain accurate drilling reports, tour sheets and operational records.
• Coordinate with Toolpushers, Rig Managers and customer representatives.
• Assist in emergency response and well‑control events.
• Maintain rig floor housekeeping and equipment upkeep.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5‑10 years of progressive drilling rig experience, including roles as Assistant Driller or Driller on land rigs.
• Valid IWCF or IADC Well Control Certification.
• Strong knowledge of drilling operations, rig equipment and well‑control principles.
• Proven ability to lead multicultural crews and uphold HSE standards.
• Experience with AC electric or advanced land rigs and automated drilling systems is preferred.
• Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is an advantage.
