Echo Technician

About the role

The Echo Technician performs diagnostic echocardiograms and related cardiac imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols. The role supports cardiologists by preparing, acquiring, and preliminarily evaluating cardiac images for both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct echocardiograms, Dobutamine stress echo, stress echo, and trans‑esophageal echo examinations.
• Prepare and mount ECGs for cardiologist interpretation.
• Collaborate with cardiologists to define technical requirements for non‑standard studies.
• Prioritize emergency and critical procedures, notifying cardiologists of urgent findings.
• Apply Holter monitors when required and coordinate patient scheduling for monitoring.
• Maintain a logbook of procedures and generate monthly statistical reports.
• Report equipment defects to biomedical services and follow manufacturer maintenance routines.
• Provide patient and family education, adhere to infection‑control standards, and ensure proper unit supply organization.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in cardiovascular technology or a related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in cardiac imaging.
• Ability to follow dress‑code and infection‑control policies.
