Electrical Service Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Service Engineer to travel to on‑shore and off‑shore customer sites, delivering inspection, installation, commissioning, testing, calibration, upgrades, refurbishment and repair of ARM/NOV equipment. The role demands rapid response to emergency "Rig Down" situations and a strong focus on safety, reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to install, commission, test, calibrate, upgrade, refurbish and repair ARM/NOV equipment.
• Prioritise and resolve emergency "Rig Down" incidents safely and efficiently.
• Service, overhaul, inspect and fault‑find mechanical, electrical, PLC‑controlled, AC/DC power and VFD systems.
• Execute field upgrades of hardware and software following approved control protocols.
• Read, interpret and redline engineering drawings and schematics.
• Investigate equipment problems and NCRs, participate in root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit daily reports, survey reports, parts lists, redline drawings and final service reports.
• Provide operational analysis, field surveys and recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
• Escalate critical faults to relevant departments and support resolution through closure.
• Support Installation & Commissioning projects and train customers on safe operation and troubleshooting.
• Maintain effective communication with customers and build strong relationships with suppliers and global teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, HSE and management to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with QA and HSE policies and promote incident prevention.

Required profile

• Proven experience in installation, commissioning, overhaul, fault finding and repair of heavy machinery or automated systems.
• Hands‑on experience with PLC and computer‑controlled systems, including minor software modifications.
• Strong understanding of AC & DC power systems, Variable Frequency Drives, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Background in FMCG, heavy industry, oil & gas or similar automated industrial environments.
• Previous field service experience on‑shore or off‑shore in an automation‑focused role.
