Emergency Medicine Resident

About the role

The Emergency Medicine Resident is responsible for the comprehensive medical care of patients presenting to the Emergency Room. This includes receiving patients, performing full assessments, initiating appropriate treatment, and ensuring safe discharge while adhering to professional ethics, CBAHI/JCIA standards, and Ministry of Health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Triages patients in collaboration with ER nurses based on acuity and initiates timely medical interventions.
• Performs complete patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and ordering necessary diagnostic tests.
• Manages and stabilizes surgical, orthopedic, medical, pediatric, and critical cases presenting to the ER.
• Documents all clinical actions in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participates in departmental education and training activities and educates patients and families about care plans and health promotion.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree with a minimum of two years experience in an Emergency Room.
• Current, valid Saudi medical license and registration with the Saudi Medical Council.
• Demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with hospital medical by‑laws, CBAHI/JCIA standards, and computer applications.
