Environmental & Sustainability Specialist

About the role

The Environmental & Sustainability Specialist will lead the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and ESG standards across projects in Riyadh. You will work closely with client and PMC teams to drive sustainable design, certification and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sustainability strategies, including LEED v4.1 (minimum Gold) and Mostadam certification for large‑scale projects.
• Prepare, review and manage Environmental Management Plans (EMP), Construction EMP (CEMP) and related documentation.
• Monitor environmental performance during construction – waste management, pollution control, resource efficiency – and report findings.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits and coordinate with client/PMC for corrective actions.
• Manage material submittal reviews and ensure sustainable design compliance.
• Produce sustainability reports aligned with international ESG frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in environmental management, sustainability, ESG or climate‑change projects.
• Proven delivery of LEED v4.1 Gold (or higher) and Mostadam certifications, preferably in hospitality.
• Experience working with government entities, consulting firms or large corporations.

Required skills

• LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
• Mostadam certification knowledge.
• Expertise in EMP, CEMP and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes.
• Certification compliance verification and material submittal review.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi environmental regulations and ESG standards.
