Faculty Member in Psychiatric Nursing

About the role

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and dedicated Faculty Member in Psychiatric Nursing to join its Nursing Program. The role involves delivering high-quality academic and clinical education, supporting student development, and promoting evidence-based mental health nursing practices.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and clinical training in psychiatric nursing.
• Supervise students during clinical rotations in mental health and psychiatric care settings.
• Facilitate simulation activities, case-based learning and therapeutic communication training.
• Utilize the LMS (Blackboard) and other digital teaching tools effectively.
• Prepare and administer assessments, assignments and clinical evaluations while maintaining accurate records.
• Provide academic advising, mentorship and feedback to support student development.
• Participate in research, conferences and scholarly activities, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Ensure compliance with academic policies, accreditation standards (e.g., NCAAA) and quality-assurance processes.
• Engage in community mental-health awareness campaigns and outreach initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
• Valid professional nursing license/registration.
• Clinical experience in psychiatric or mental health nursing.
• Teaching experience in nursing education is preferred.
• Commitment to academic quality, continuous improvement and student-centered teaching.
