Food Server

About the role

The Food Server works within the hospital Nutrition Services team to deliver meals to patients and visitors, ensuring each tray matches prescribed diets and schedules while providing courteous service. The position supports the efficient operation of hospital food services and contributes to a positive patient experience by ensuring meals are delivered accurately and safely. The Food Server also ensures compliance with food safety and hygiene standards while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver meals to patients and visitors according to prescribed diets, scheduled meal times and hospital procedures, ensuring timely and courteous service.
• Verify each tray’s contents and dietary requirements before service, checking for accuracy and patient safety.
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations, infection‑prevention practices and all relevant hospital policies at all times.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 0‑2 years of experience in food service, hospitality, catering or a related field.
• Previous experience in a healthcare or hospital setting is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
