Freight Forwarding Manager

About the role

The Freight Forwarding Manager will lead end‑to‑end air, sea and land forwarding operations for ALJ Logistics, ensuring reliable, compliant and profitable services while meeting customer commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and control daily import, export and cross‑trade forwarding across all modes, overseeing booking, documentation, customs coordination and shipment tracking.
• Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Transportation, Warehousing, Customs, carriers and overseas agents to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage performance, rates, allocations and service levels of carriers, agents, brokers and subcontractors.
• Monitor profitability, operational costs, demurrage, detention, claims and revenue leakage, and take corrective actions when needed.
• Maintain compliance with customs, dangerous goods, sanctions, trade and security regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of freight forwarding experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Professional proficiency in Arabic and English.
• Preferred certifications: FIATA, IATA, Dangerous Goods, Customs or Supply Chain.
