General Ledger Accountant

About the role

This position is responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, resolving supplier or customer disputes, and supporting periodic financial closings on a monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual and annual basis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post asset, liability and capital account entries by analysing source data.
• Document financial transactions and ensure accurate entry into the accounting system.
• Produce management reports, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial summaries.
• Audit supporting documents to substantiate transactions and maintain internal controls.
• Reconcile discrepancies by investigating account information and correcting errors.
• Secure financial data through regular backups and adherence to confidentiality policies.
• Process payments after verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Answer accounting procedure queries by interpreting policies and regulations.
• Prepare special financial reports by analysing trends and summarising account information.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical abilities.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Good computer proficiency.
