Head of Engineering Saudi Arabia and Egypt

About the role

Doka, part of the Umdasch Group, is a global supplier of formwork solutions and scaffolding systems. As Head of Engineering for Saudi Arabia and Egypt, you join the country management team and are fully accountable for Engineering and Product Management. You develop and manage your team so they can deliver the right formwork designs for challenging client projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering department, including workforce planning, structure and performance management, and define engineering strategies aligned with country business objectives
• Ensure efficient, safe and cost-effective engineering solutions, monitor departmental KPIs and drive adoption of BIM for formwork design
• Act as a business partner to the Country Manager, supporting project costing, technical-commercial proposals and risk assessment, and improving project margins
• Enforce project management practices, coordinate Group Leaders across projects, and oversee quality, safety and compliance of engineering execution
• Review and approve structural calculations and technical designs, ensure quality assurance and compliance with local regulations, and support claims and change requests
• Build and develop the engineering team, strengthen leadership capabilities among Team Leaders and senior engineers, and plan succession
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and the Regional Engineering team, and act as the interface between country operations and regional engineering
• Manage the Engineering department budget and cost control, and stay aware of site activities, customer requirements and competitor solutions

Required profile

• Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in construction or the formwork industry
• Proven experience leading and developing teams
• Good understanding of commercial aspects such as costing, contracts and project profitability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work in a cross-functional, multinational environment
