Landscape Architecture Specialist

About the role

The Landscape Architecture Specialist will lead research and experimental projects to solve land‑use challenges, select appropriate plant varieties, and optimise nursery operations. You will also guide community‑focused landscaping initiatives and train staff on the latest horticultural technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Direct research on land‑use problems, plant selection, and nursery techniques.
• Develop and implement best practices for planting, spraying, cultivating, harvesting, storing, processing, and transporting agricultural and horticultural products.
• Provide guidance on community project planning, quality landscaping design, implementation, and cost‑reduction strategies.
• Design training programmes for staff on modern agricultural and horticultural methods, including pest and weed management.
• Study soil characteristics, create improved measurement techniques, and develop soil‑conservation methods and sampling devices.
• Design work programmes for Gardening, Landscaping and Nursery teams and review staff performance.
• Coordinate and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programmes across all landscaped areas.
• Conduct surveys, collect samples, and analyse plant pests to enhance control measures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Landscaping or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, or agriculture.
• At least 5 years of specialised experience in horticulture, gardening, plantations or equivalent.
