Lead Operator

About the role

The HYCO Lead Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient and stable operation of the Hydrogen Manufacturing Unit at BHIG. Working from the centralized DCS control room, you will ensure production targets, quality standards and environmental regulations are met while supporting continuous process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the Steam Methane Reformer hydrogen plant, CO₂ removal, compression, PSA, tail‑gas compression and membrane unit.
• Prepare and implement safety work permits, LOTO procedures and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Assist maintenance and engineering teams with corrective maintenance activities.
• Act as shift lead in the absence of the Shift Supervisor to ensure business continuity.
• Respond to process emergencies, execute emergency operating procedures and manage plant trips.
• Monitor Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and Fire & Gas systems, and ensure compliance with environmental permits.

Required profile

• Proven experience operating hydrogen manufacturing facilities or similar process plants.
• Strong knowledge of Distributed Control System (DCS) operation and field instrumentation.
• Ability to lead a shift, enforce safety work permits and LOTO procedures.
• Familiarity with emergency response and plant trip execution.
