Legal Counsel – Contracts

About the role

The Legal Counsel – Contracts will provide reliable, accurate and timely legal advice to support the Department and Executive Leadership Team. This role focuses on ensuring the company’s contracts, policies and corporate transactions align with legal standards and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general legal advice, opinions and research on disciplinary, contract, governance, risk management and contentious matters.
• Review, amend and draft company policies, regulations and a wide range of contracts.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with customers and suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, anti‑fraud, anti‑corruption and other relevant legislation.
• Support the corporate team in drafting, negotiating and managing corporate transaction documentation.
• Lead and mentor junior legal staff, overseeing their work and professional development.
• Drive continuous process improvement and implement best legal practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) – a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 month of relevant legal experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate transactions, contract law and regulatory compliance.
