Legal Counsel

About the role

The Legal Counsel will provide commercial legal services and advice to S-Chem and its affiliated entities, ensuring that business operations comply with applicable laws and regulations. This role supports contract drafting, negotiation, and risk mitigation across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on agreements and contracts related to routine operations, assisting in negotiations to protect business interests.
• Draft, review, and revise contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure sound legal standing.
• Support the General Counsel with compliance requirements, including Zakat, VAT, tax, and insurance matters.
• Conduct external market research in a legal context to inform risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in investigations, manage legal disputes, and coordinate with external counsel.
• Maintain confidential legal and commercial documentation according to standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop policies and programs that reduce legal exposure.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law.
• Minimum 2‑3 years of post‑qualification experience (total 4‑5 years including training).
• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
