Legal Trainee - Corporate M&A and Capital

About the role

Freshfields' MENA Global M&A and Capital (GMAC) practice, based in Riyadh, is recruiting a Legal Trainee. The trainee works on a broad mix of transactions and matters, most with a significant international dimension, ranging from large, complex deals to smaller ones. The trainee gains exposure to commercial law and takes part in matters with the MENA Dispute Resolution team where appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a wide variety of transactions for a range of clients, supervised by experienced lawyers
• Take part in the highest-profile transactions in the market and provide legal support where required
• Help develop and deepen relationships with existing key clients
• Contribute to research, translations, business development, knowledge management and other tasks assigned by the MENA GMAC and DR teams

Required profile

• National of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Bachelor's degree in law from a university in KSA
• Registered or in the process of registering for a training licence with the Saudi Ministry of Justice as a Legal Trainee
• Strong academic record and good technical and commercial background
• Excellent oral and written English
• Team player, confident, self-motivated and able to handle a high degree of responsibility
• Willingness to learn and broaden experience in legal and non-legal activities such as business development and knowledge management; preferably prior experience in a legal environment
