Regional Legal Counsel - MENA

About the role

Stryker is looking for a Regional Legal Counsel for the MENA region, based in Riyadh. As a member of the MENA Leadership Team, the role acts as a key legal partner across functions and divisions, helping develop and execute departmental and business strategies. It covers advising on the application of laws and regulations to business activities and supporting corporate and divisional policies, and calls for a high degree of independent judgment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice to Stryker MENA businesses and stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic decisions and build partnerships with Legal, Compliance and other global Centers of Excellence.
• Support compliance programs with the MENA Compliance Officer and the MENA Compliance Committee.
• Act as lead legal advisor for major regional projects, including business transformation and data privacy programs.
• Manage external legal counsel and related budgets across the region.
• Advise on M&A, integrations and other strategic transactions, and draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, tenders and distribution contracts.
• Advise on distributor and third-party relationships, employment, regulatory, compliance and corporate governance matters.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and support dispute resolution and litigation, including managing external counsel where needed.
• Promote legal awareness through training, process improvement and global legal team projects.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Law.
• Qualified lawyer admitted to practice and licensed in a recognized jurisdiction.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification legal experience in the MENA region, with strong knowledge of local laws and regulations.
• Experience in a multinational organization and/or a leading law firm.
• Professional fluency in English and Arabic, written and spoken.
• Preferred: experience in a highly regulated industry.
