Lifting Expert

About the role

As a Lifting Expert you will join the Transportation Project Delivery team to oversee all lifting activities on a large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary transportation project in Saudi Arabia. You will work closely with design, engineering and construction supervision teams as well as the Design‑and‑Build contractor to ensure safe, efficient and compliant lifting operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Review and supervise logistic and construction plans submitted by the D&B contractor.
• Validate lifting plans, method statements and risk assessments, ensuring appropriate mitigation measures.
• Confirm selection of suitable lifting equipment such as slings, shackles, spreader beams and cranes based on load, geometry and site conditions.
• Conduct inspection and testing of lifting equipment to industry specifications, both on‑site and in workshops.
• Oversee toolbox talks, safety briefs and rigging crews during complex lifts.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards for all lifting activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years (96 months) of experience in lifting operations, rigging and heavy equipment handling.
• Strong understanding of construction and transportation project environments.
• Ability to assess constructability of designs and provide technical guidance.
• Commitment to safety culture and continuous improvement.
