Lifting Manager

About the role

Parsons Corporation is seeking an experienced Lifting Manager to lead all lifting operations on complex hospitality and mixed‑use construction projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role oversees the planning, execution and close‑out of lifting activities, ensuring safety, compliance and efficiency across multiple contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed lifting plans, method statements and safe systems of work for all on‑site activities.
• Supervise lifting operators, riggers, signallers and banksmen, conducting pre‑lift briefings and ensuring crew understanding.
• Implement equipment inspection, selection and maintenance procedures in line with LOLER, PUWER and HASAWA standards.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement and safety teams to minimise unnecessary lifts and optimise site logistics.
• Lead site inspections, safety audits and quality checks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage multiple subcontractor teams, assign work, monitor progress and report on lifting performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years (180 months) of experience in construction lifting operations, preferably on projects exceeding US $1 bn or 5 million man‑hours.
• Proven experience as an Appointed Person (AP) or equivalent contractor‑lead role.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian construction regulations and international standards such as LOLER, PUWER and HASAWA.
• Ability to work on‑site in Riyadh and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
