Math & Science Teacher

About the role

Jeddah International Academy, part of the SABIS educational network, is hiring a Math & Science teacher. The purpose of the role is to ensure students' academic success by implementing the SABIS curriculum and teaching methods, and to support students in reaching their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using provided lesson plans, and develop them from pacing charts where needed, applying the SABIS point system
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department
• Discuss student disciplinary and academic concerns with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department
• Implement the SABIS Point System in the classroom and proctor exams
• Support, guide and motivate academically underperforming students
• Help prepare students for external exams through revision of past papers
• Assist with testing, substitution, lunch and bus organisation, crowd control and other administrative tasks
• Take part in student life events such as art, open houses and sports, with the Student Life Coordinator
• Attend training sessions and carry out other tasks delegated by school management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• English proficiency
• At least 1 year of teaching experience
• Ability to take ownership, act professionally and ethically, work in a team, communicate and adapt to change
• Meets local education and certification requirements, and passes reference and criminal background checks
