About the role
The Mechanical Workshop Engineer is responsible for overseeing all mechanical operations and maintenance within the workshop. This role ensures that machinery and the fleet run efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting the company’s production goals.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery.
- Manage workshop projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of technicians.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes to improve equipment reliability.
- Monitor fleet performance and expenses, preparing regular management reports.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate contracts and guarantee quality service.
Required profile
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering within a workshop or industrial setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams.
- Strong project management skills with a focus on budget and schedule adherence.
