Paint Engineer

About the role

The Paint Engineer is responsible for managing all paint‑shop processes to ensure stable mass production while meeting safety, quality, and production targets. The role covers equipment management, process improvement, supplier coordination, and training of team members, with involvement in new plant setup and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Design and manage conveyors and automation equipment for mass production; supervise installation of paint‑shop machinery.
• Select and request tools for each workstation; perform daily inspections to ensure standardized equipment performance.
• Survey sub‑materials (e.g., vinyl, gloves, cleaning supplies) in KSA; monitor inventory and drive equipment investment plans.
• Train workers on production processes; inspect quality and equipment condition; analyze inspection results and initiate corrective actions.
• Identify and correct issues during equipment manufacturing and installation; verify documents, punch lists, and production requirements.
• Coordinate production training by suppliers, prepare manuals and machine training plans, and support local supplier development.
• Generate technical reports, work flexible shifts as needed, and act as paint‑shop safety coordinator.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 4–8 years of experience in an automotive paint shop.
• Hands‑on experience with pretreatment, E‑coating, primer, basecoat, and clearcoat processes.
• Experience operating and maintaining paint‑shop equipment such as robots, booths, ovens, and conveyors.
• Familiarity with integration of paint‑shop systems into overall production flow.
• Background in defect management, quality root‑cause analysis, and paint‑material/environmental control management.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience and cross‑functional coordination with quality, maintenance, and production teams.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
