Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy

About the role

The Pharmacist will ensure high‑quality medical treatment, compassion and understanding for every patient at NMC Hospitals and Clinics. This role is responsible for accurate medication delivery, verification of physician orders, and providing drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Review, process and verify physician orders and patient medication profiles.
• Dispense medications accurately, providing detailed instructions and checking dosage tolerance.
• Conduct drug‑drug, drug‑allergy and drug‑diet interaction checks.
• Prepare daily inpatient medication doses using the unit‑dose system.
• Calculate and prepare IV admixtures, TPN and cytotoxic drug compounding according to policy.
• Manage computerized charging, verification, modification and inventory of inpatient medications.
• Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Monitor controlled drug stock levels, perform spot‑checks and manage storehouse orders.
• Participate in staff orientation, pharmacy student training and continuing education.
• Update hospital formulary and ensure compliance with infection control and dress‑code policies.
