Planning Supervisor

About the role

The Planning Supervisor ensures seamless demand forecasting, material requirements planning, and inventory flow across hospital operations. This position aligns supply capabilities with clinical, administrative, and facility management needs to prevent stockouts and control holding costs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop accurate demand forecasts for clinical consumables, non‑clinical supplies, administrative materials, and facility spares.
• Coordinate with departmental heads (Nursing, Clinical Operations, Facilities, IT, Finance) for non‑routine procurement, major projects, and seasonal volume spikes.
• Set and review inventory targets, safety stock levels, min/max thresholds, and reorder points for central warehouses and ward‑level stores.
• Oversee MRP processes within the hospital’s ERP/HIS platform to generate timely purchase requisitions.
• Track lead times and delivery schedules with procurement and logistics teams to guarantee uninterrupted operations.
• Enforce FIFO/FEFO rotation protocols to minimize expiry, waste, and scrap.
• Monitor KPIs such as forecast accuracy, stockout frequency, inventory turnover, and order fulfillment rates.
• Lead, schedule, and evaluate planning analysts, store supervisors, and inventory coordinators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• 4–6 years of supply chain planning and inventory management experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role within a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Preferred APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, TrackCare).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
