Registrar General Surgery

About the role

The Registrar General Surgery provides inpatient care within NMC Hospitals and Clinics, ensuring high‑quality medical treatment aligned with professional ethics, CBAHI/JCIA standards, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations. Working under the supervision of a Consultant, the registrar contributes to patient assessment, diagnosis, and management plans.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive history taking, physical examinations, and interpret basic diagnostic tests.
• Admit patients from the Emergency Department after Consultant approval and coordinate investigations.
• Execute and document management plans, perform daily ward rounds, and update progress notes.
• Prepare discharge summaries, death reports, and special patient reports.
• Participate in on‑call rota, respond to emergencies, and present new admissions during morning reports.
• Assist senior consultants with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Supervise junior staff and uphold patient confidentiality and rights.

Required profile

• Medical degree with appropriate clinical privileges for General Surgery.
• Minimum 36 months of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with consultants.
• Strong documentation skills and adherence to hospital policies.
