Sales Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a Sales Supervisor to lead a team of salesmen and oversee sales and distribution activities across assigned routes. The role ensures that sales targets, replenishment standards and customer service levels are met while adhering to company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Area Sales Manager/Branch Manager in setting targets and motivating the sales team to achieve route sales within cost and operational parameters.
• Gather market and competitor information and share insights with management for corrective actions.
• Train sales staff on the company’s replenishment program and ensure product availability and freshness.
• Manage agreements with modern trade and wholesale customers, maintaining strong relationships.
• Plan and optimise daily journeys for salesmen to maximise productivity.
• Monitor product shelf‑life at points of sale, control rotation and minimise waste.
• Identify and develop new customers within the assigned routes.
• Apply the approved credit policy, oversee credit limits and collections.
• Maintain company assets, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
• Recruit, train and manage the sales team in line with HR policies.
• Ensure accurate data entry and reporting using the MSFA system.
• Conduct daily MSFA endorsements with each salesman to review performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales supervision or team leadership within a distribution environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer and team interaction.
• Good organisational abilities to plan routes and manage schedules.
• Knowledge of credit and collection processes.

Required skills

• MSFA (Mobile Sales Force Automation) – proficient use for data entry, reporting and performance endorsement.
