Section Manager – General Insurance (Facility)

About the role

The Section Manager for General Insurance – Facility is responsible for ensuring that the company's insurance programmes fully cover operational risks while complying with policy terms and insurer recommendations. The role safeguards against coverage gaps and claim denials by aligning insurance structures with actual risk exposure.

Key responsibilities

• Review and monitor insurance coverage adequacy against operational risks.
• Verify compliance with policy terms, conditions, warranties, and operational obligations.
• Follow up on recommendations from insurers and risk‑assessment firms, proposing alternatives when needed.
• Maintain and update the Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the Head Office.
• Prepare periodic and ad‑hoc reports on insurance gaps, risks, and compliance status.
• Identify gaps in coverage, limits, deductibles, and exclusions, and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead a team, recruit high performers, and manage under‑performance.
• Strong decision‑making skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Capability to translate corporate goals into actionable business plans and monitor performance.
• Understanding of delegation of authority matrices and corporate governance.
