Senior Accountant – Finance & Reporting

About the role

The Senior Accountant will support the finance function of Abdul Latif Jameel by ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions, preparing management accounts and budgets, and coordinating audit activities. This role works closely with various finance departments to reconcile data in line with accepted accounting principles.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, fund flow statements and annual budgets; monitor suspense accounts for operational anomalies.
• Roll‑over deposits, prepare collateral reports and reconcile bank statements.
• Coordinate with external and internal auditors, providing required documentation and ensuring audit accuracy.
• Lead monthly financial closing, analyze income‑related accounts and produce reports for department and corporate management.
• Supervise accountants and cashiers in cash reconciliations and balance‑sheet control.
• Conduct performance discussions with subordinates and support their development.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and ALJ policies; monitor actual vs. budget performance.

Required profile

• Works under close supervision on daily operations and monthly reporting.
• Limited authority over daily accounting operations, adhering to accounting standards.
• Responsible for accuracy and adequacy of supporting documents in financial transactions.
• Experience in budgeting, reporting, audit coordination and team supervision.
