Senior Commercial Manager - Lead

About the role

KBR is recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager - Lead for a major mixed-use development in Riyadh, described as a global landmark. The role reports to the Commercial Director and coordinates with project management contractors (PMCs) on executive commercial reporting, control, strategy, pre- and post-contract management, status reports and project close-out reports. It also leads contracts, risk and other support service departments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and govern standard cost and commercial reporting formats for PMCs, and maintain a database of insurances, guarantees and warranties.
• Compile and validate analytical commercial data with PMCs, manage executive risk reporting and lead programme change control.
• Develop the Project Cost Report, Commercial Executive Report and cash flows in Unifier, and prepare consolidated programme cost reports for DevCo, BOD, Excom, Treasury, PIF and HRH.
• Collate annual budgets and prepare monthly cash flow reports for client review and approval.
• Prepare cost benchmark reports (tender price index, professional fees, construction costs, GFA/BUA, market prices) and issue cost templates and elemental cost plans to PMCs.
• Review cost risks and opportunities, link cost breakdown structure with work breakdown structure using earned value, and update the programme baseline budget.
• Support the business plan exercise and provide portfolio-wide risk management, consolidating PMC risk registers into programme and departmental registers.
• Assist the client with commercial strategy and ensure timely delivery of commercial reports throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quantity surveying.
• Minimum 15 years of post-graduation experience.
• Certified as MRICS, CIOB or equivalent.
• Prior experience as Senior Commercial Manager.
• Sound knowledge of commercial aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects, including procurement and contract management.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Experience with international contracting mechanisms including FIDIC and NEC.
• Experienced user of MS Office and understanding of project management software.
• Leadership, strong communication, commercial awareness, planning and organisation skills, and HSE awareness.
