Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) will report to the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department in a multi‑discipline design office. The role leads a team of design engineers and CAD operators to deliver HVAC design, drafting and specifications for a wide range of building projects from concept through to construction contract documents.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of design engineers and CAD operators in HVAC design activities.
• Develop detailed HVAC calculations, layouts, and specifications for large‑scale projects.
• Prepare construction contract documents and oversee short‑term supervision and inspection of mechanical installations.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure integrated building services solutions.
• Support district‑cooling and HVAC infrastructure design where required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC design for large‑scale building projects.
• At least 5 years of experience gained in the Middle East.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage project deliverables.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Carrier E‑20/HAP and Elite HVAC design software.
• Experience using duct and pipe sizing tools, ESP drop and heat‑gain calculations.
• In‑depth knowledge of HVAC systems for high‑rise, commercial, residential, hospitality, educational and healthcare facilities.
• Familiarity with district‑cooling infrastructure design (asset).
