Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical oversight of EPC contractor deliverables for static mechanical equipment on major oil and gas projects in Khafji, Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate design calculations, datasheets, and specifications for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and columns.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, API, TEMA and project‑specific codes.
• Verify material selection, design thickness and overall mechanical integrity.
• Assess vendor documentation, participate in technical bid evaluations and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
• Monitor EPC contractor progress, identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Support field inspections and mechanical completion activities, guaranteeing safety, operability and maintainability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 12 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 6 years on large‑scale oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
• Strong knowledge of static mechanical equipment and industry standards.
