Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) Offshore

About the role

Penspen is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) with 12+ years of experience to join its engineering team for a major Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) project for offshore oil and gas work. The position is based in Saudi Arabia under a fixed-term full-time contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead rotating equipment engineering activities for FEED, detailed design and EPC phases of oil and gas projects.
• Develop data sheets, specifications and requisitions for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers and packaged systems.
• Review vendor offers, perform technical bid evaluations and take part in vendor meetings and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO and other relevant international standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, instrumentation and electrical disciplines for equipment integration.
• Review vendor documents (GA drawings, datasheets, performance curves) and ensure timely approval.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.
• Take part in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and design review workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support client and internal audits and ensure adherence to project quality and safety standards.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards and experience in major brownfield FEED/EPC projects is an advantage.
