Senior Project Manager - Urban Realm

About the role

The Senior Project Manager - Urban Realm leads the planning, design coordination, procurement and delivery of large-scale urban realm and public space projects. The role manages multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders to deliver high-quality public realm environments such as streetscapes, plazas, parks, waterfronts, pedestrian networks, civic spaces and mixed-use developments, in line with client objectives, budget, schedule, sustainability goals and international best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery from concept design through construction, handover and closeout, and build project execution plans, delivery strategies and governance frameworks.
• Manage teams of urban designers, landscape architects, civil engineers, utilities engineers, transportation specialists and contractors, ensuring safe, on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Oversee design development and coordination, ensure alignment with master plans, regulations and sustainability objectives, and drive value engineering and design review.
• Monitor construction progress and contractor performance, lead project controls (schedule, cost, forecasting, reporting) and resolve technical, commercial and delivery issues.
• Manage testing, commissioning, handover and defect rectification; act as main client contact and prepare executive reports and presentations.
• Manage budgets, change control, claims and contracts, support procurement and evaluate consultants and contractors.
• Promote sustainable, resilient development and integrate environmental, social and ESG objectives, while upholding quality management and HSE compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Construction Management or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of project management experience in engineering consultancy, PMC or major developer organisations.
• Proven track record leading large-scale urban realm, public realm, streetscape, landscape, waterfront or city development projects.
• Strong experience delivering projects in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar or other GCC markets.
• Experience on mega projects, mixed-use developments, smart cities or infrastructure-led developments is highly desirable.
