Senior Registrar Obstetrics and Gynecology

About the role

The Senior Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynecology will provide high‑quality inpatient care at National Medical Care Co. facilities, ensuring compliance with Saudi Ministry of Health regulations, CBAHI and JCIA standards. The role combines clinical responsibility with supervision of junior staff and participation in emergency response.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily ward rounds for all in‑patients in the OB‑GYN department.
• Manage low‑risk obstetric cases, including induction of labor and instrumental deliveries (ventouse, forceps).
• Assist in major surgeries such as LSCS under consultant supervision.
• Perform minor gynecological procedures (cryosurgery, IUD insertion, D&C, suction curettage).
• Investigate and manage infertility cases with ovulation induction.
• Participate in the on‑call rota, respond to emergencies, and act as a Code Blue team member.
• Supervise junior staff and contribute to departmental education and training.

Required profile

• Minimum 36 months of relevant clinical experience.
• Medical degree and registration with Saudi health authorities.
• Ability to work under consultant supervision and follow hospital bylaws.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, ethics, and continuous quality improvement.
