Senior Registrar Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the role

The Senior Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynecology provides high‑quality outpatient and inpatient care, ensuring professional ethics and compliance with JCIA standards. Working under consultant supervision, the registrar manages a range of gynecological and obstetric cases in a fast‑paced hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage minor and major gynecological cases, performing procedures such as cryosurgery, IUD insertion, D&C, and suction curettage.
• Investigate and treat infertility cases, including ovulation induction.
• Conduct daily ward rounds, liaise with consultants, and supervise junior staff.
• Handle low‑risk obstetric cases, induction of labor, instrumental deliveries (ventouse, forceps), and assist in LSCS with consultant on site.
• Manage high‑risk antenatal, postnatal, and postoperative cases (e.g., PET, APH) in collaboration with consultants.
• Participate in the Code Blue team, on‑call rota, and respond to emergencies.
• Provide patient and family education, health promotion, and documentation according to hospital policies.

Required profile

• Medical degree with valid registration to practice in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience as a registrar in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Ability to work under supervision and supervise junior staff.
• Commitment to professional ethics, JCIA standards, and continuous learning.
