Senior Site Construction Engineer – Renewable Energy (Al Qassim, Saudi Arabia)

About the role

Tractebel, acting as Owner's Engineer for the Al Khushaybi Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, is seeking a Senior Site Construction Engineer to lead on‑site construction activities. The 500 MW, 4‑hour BESS facility is located in Al Khushaybi, Qassim Region, Saudi Arabia, and the role will ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest technical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise construction works to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Monitor quality, progress, and workmanship; witness inspections and tests.
• Coordinate all engineering site services and disciplines, interfacing with EPC and client teams.
• Ensure site execution aligns with design intent and applicable standards.
• Identify non‑conformities, site risks, and delays, and ensure timely escalation.
• Prepare and submit regular site progress and event reports.
• Maintain accurate site records and support milestone achievement and handover.
• Act as the focal point for all site‑related matters from the Owner's Engineer side.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory).
• Substation experience in Saudi Arabia, including work with SEC and the National Grid.
• Proven experience with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integration to the grid.
• Relevant professional certification or membership is preferred.
