Staff AI Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Staff AI Software Engineer who combines deep software development expertise with a passion for raising engineering standards. The role balances hands‑on coding (≈50%) with technical leadership, guiding best‑practice adoption, sprint planning and delivery across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale modern full‑stack applications with a focus on performance, scalability and reliability.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews and champion engineering best practices.
• Define coding standards, software architecture and development processes to improve quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering Leadership to shape sprint planning, break down technical initiatives, estimate work and improve delivery.
• Develop and maintain distributed micro‑services, REST APIs and event‑driven systems.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI‑native components such as RAG, AI agents, vector databases and frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph into production services.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, operating at Staff, Principal or Technical Lead level.
• Proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring and influencing multiple teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience in high‑growth startups or scaling technology businesses.
• Comfortable with fast‑paced environments and high ownership.
