Treasury & Banking Accountant

About the role

BRKZ, a Saudi construction-tech startup, is looking for a Treasury & Banking Accountant in Riyadh. The role keeps bank accounts accurate every day and follows every Letter of Credit (LC) and cheque until the money reaches the company's account. You will upload and reconcile bank statements daily in Zoho Books, manage the LC and cheque cycle with the banks, and act as the go-to person for banking transactions across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Upload all bank statements to Zoho Books daily for each company bank account and reconcile all accounts daily, clearing unmatched items within 48 hours.
• Investigate unidentified receipts, bank charges and differences, post or request the correct entries, and prepare the daily cash position by bank for the Finance team.
• Follow up on new LCs from receipt until proceeds are deposited, check LC terms and required documents, submit documents to the banks, resolve discrepancies before expiry, and coordinate with Sales, Operations and Accounts Receivable on LC status and expected collections.
• Deposit customer cheques, handle returned cheques (record the reversal, inform AR and Sales, follow up), and maintain a cheque register with status.
• Keep a tracker of open LCs, cheques and pending bank transactions with status and expected dates.
• Support all teams with banking requests (transfers, bank letters, guarantees, account queries, bank portal access) and act as day-to-day contact with bank relationship managers.
• Support month-end close and audit requests with bank reconciliations and confirmations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in treasury, banking operations or bank reconciliation.
• Fluent Arabic and good English.

Required skills

• Hands-on daily bank reconciliation and practical experience with LCs and cheques.
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system.
• Preferred: Zoho Books, Saudi bank online portals (SNB, Al Rajhi Bank, Riyad Bank), basic UCP 600 knowledge, strong Excel or Google Sheets.
