Urban Civil Engineer – Roads, Drainage & Utilities

About the role

Robert Bird Group, part of the Surbana Jurong Group, is seeking experienced urban civil engineers at various seniority levels to support major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The roles focus on integrated design of roads, grading, drainage, and utilities within large‑scale masterplanning programmes aligned with Vision 2030.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver urban civil infrastructure design, including roads, grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across planning, architecture, and utilities.
• Support the transition from masterplan concepts to detailed design development.
• Ensure compliance with local authority standards and project specifications.
• Manage stakeholders, clients, and internal teams to achieve timely project delivery.
• Mentor and support junior engineers (for senior positions).
• Contribute to technical excellence and innovation across projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in urban civil infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, grading, drainage).
• Strong understanding of masterplanning and integrated infrastructure design.
• Experience working in the Middle East, preferably Saudi Arabia.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant design tools.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• For senior roles: demonstrated leadership, project delivery experience, and client‑facing stakeholder management capability.
