Welder - Gas Turbine Components

About the role

The Welder supports welding, blending and repair operations on gas turbine components in accordance with approved work instructions, process specifications, engineering requirements and quality standards. The role ensures welding is performed safely, accurately and consistently, and contributes to Lean implementation, problem solving and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding operations according to approved work instructions, process specifications and engineering requirements.
• Prepare parts, surfaces and welding equipment; set up, operate and monitor welding equipment safely.
• Read and interpret work instructions, welding procedures, technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Inspect parts before, during and after welding and record and maintain process and production data.
• Identify defects and nonconformities and escalate concerns; support repair and rework.
• Follow Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets, and comply with quality policies, safety requirements and procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area (5S) and apply Lean principles.
• Work within takt time and use shop floor systems such as ELM, SmartShop and MyAndon as required.

Required profile

• Diploma, technical college degree, welding certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, repair welding or related industrial manufacturing.
• Desired: at least 2 years' experience welding gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.
