Well Site Leader

About the role

The Well Site Leader is accountable for planning, coordinating, supervising and executing the well‑operations program on‑site. The role ensures that all activities are performed safely, within schedule and budget, while complying with company policies, standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safety and operations briefings, daily planning meetings and debriefs with customers, contractors and third‑party supervisors.
• Maintain and update forecasts, resource plans and activity schedules to meet well demands.
• Verify that equipment and services meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Manage inventory of cement, barite, bits and rental equipment, coordinating with suppliers as needed.
• Monitor operational risks (well control, stuck pipe, etc.) and implement risk responses and change control.
• Prepare detailed procedures and contingency plans for critical operations such as running casing and cementing.
• Generate daily cost estimates, review and approve invoices, and track material consumption.
• Ensure clear communication with all stakeholders and provide technical calculations (e.g., cement volume).
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and support incident response and recovery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Drilling or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in drilling, well operations or integrated project management.
• Hands‑on field experience in rig‑site operations (drilling, completion or intervention).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with contractors and service companies.
• Strong understanding of drilling engineering, well design and well‑control principles.
• Knowledge of cementing, casing design, drilling fluids and downhole tools.
• Demonstrated competence in risk management, HSE compliance and safety leadership.
