Workplace Health and Safety Officer

About the role

The Site WHS Officer partners with the operations team at a delivery station to implement Amazon's safety policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and create a safe, healthful environment for associates. Using lean principles and kaizen methodologies, the officer drives continuous improvement to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all Amazon WHS standards and local regulations.
• Measure site performance against safety policies, identify deficiencies, and develop corrective action plans.
• Analyze safety metrics, review incident trends, and allocate resources to high‑risk areas.
• Conduct frequent safety audits, investigate incidents, and ensure proper closure of corrective and preventive actions.
• Audit record‑keeping, workplace organization, and associate behaviors to maintain consistent training and scoring methods.
• Lead and mentor Safety Associates, especially during peak periods.
• Collaborate with safety teams, associates, and leaders to identify and implement program improvements.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of local/regional safety regulations and Amazon WHS policies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build trust with operations teams and inspire change.
• Flexibility to work in shifts and spend time on the delivery station floor.
